RapidScreen is Air Care Colorado’s convenient, laser-based, mobile emissions testing program. Using infrared and ultraviolet beams of light, RapidScreen’s roadside testing equipment can analyze a passing vehicle’s plume of exhaust in less than a second. By simply driving past a RapidScreen testing van, drivers of clean-running, low-polluting vehicles can have their vehicle screened and approved on the fly, allowing them to skip a trip to an emissions testing facility.
Tips for passing RapidScreen:
This is not safe for you, our van operators or oncoming traffic. Since results are not immediate, and van operators cannot tell you if your vehicle has passed, there is no reason to stop.
