Air Care Colorado Issues Tips to Speed
Vehicle Emissions Testing
During Busy Summer Season
Denver, CO July 22, 2004
- Air Care Colorado today released tips and a consumer fact sheet to help speed emissions testing for Denver metro area motorists this summer.“Envirotest is committed to making emissions testing as convenient as possible this summer. Test volume increases every summer, so we’ve put together some tips to help metro area motorists get their vehicles tested as quickly as possible,” said Jon McKinley, Envirotest General Manager.
Tips include best times and stations for testing, suggested vehicle maintenance, and equipment requirements. McKinley noted that in some cases it may even be beneficial for motorists to drive a little further to go to a less busy station.
Motorists who follow these guidelines when planning for their emissions test
should experience a smoother, quicker testing process.
4 Make sure tires are properly inflated; under inflated tires will not roll properly on the treadmill test.
4 Arrive at the testing station before 9 a.m.
4 Be sure to have a gas cap.
4 Avoid any day after a holiday.
Additionally, up-to-the-minute information regarding inspection station wait times and directions to alternate, conveniently located stations is available on the Air Care Colorado hotline at 303-456-7090 and on the web at
www.aircarecolorado.com.This summer it is expected to be especially busy at the Stapleton (30th & Peoria) and Northglenn (112th & Irma) stations. The unusually high volume is due, in part, to the closure of Air Care’s Commerce City station in compliance with an eminent domain ruling in Adams County court.
Alternate, less busy locations that are close to the Northglenn and Stapleton stations include the Arvada (52nd Ave. and Marshall St.) Broomfield (120th Ave. and Pierce St.) and Denver (2300 S. Lipan St.) stations.
Air Care stations are open from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays and 8 a.m. to
noon on Saturdays. Stations are closed on Sundays and all state holidays.
