Avoid Lengthy Wait Lines Monday, July 8!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
July 5, 2002

Extremely heavy customer volumes are the norm at emissions test centers after the July 4th holiday. Because the 4th fell on Thursday giving many folks a four-day weekend, the normal after-holiday crush is expected on Monday, July 8. The first day after the July 4th holiday has historically been one of the busiest days of the year at the centers. The stations are geared up for the expected demand, but lengthy wait lines are probably inevitable. Folks with July renewals who want to avoid a potentially long wait time should try to come later in the week, or better yet, the following week.

In general, people needing emissions tests can minimize or avoid waiting in lines by coming before 9 a.m. and after 4 p.m. on weekdays, or on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon. Avoid the first few days and last few days of the month, Mondays, and the day after any holiday. Customers can call the Air Care Colorado hotline, 303-456-7090, or visit www.aircarecolorado.com, for best times to test, locations, directions and other program information. The hotline can also provide current wait times and help direct customers to stations with shorter lines.
